What to Expect at First Baptist

  • How does my family dress for Sunday services?  First Baptist Church has a casual atmosphere.  You will see many different styles of dress on a Sunday morning.  Anything from dresses & suits to blue jeans is normal.
  • Where do I go when I arrive?  You will enter the parking lot via 20th Avenue North and park in either the upper (south) or lower (east) parking lot and enter through whichever door is closet to that lot.  Upon arrival you can stop at either entryway to hang up your coats.  From either entryway you proceed into the Fellowship Hall where you will see the large doors and windows leading into the sanctuary.
  • Do you offer Sunday school classes? Children ages 4-years through 3rd grade are invited to attend Children's Church during the worship time of 10:15 a.m.
  • How long does your Sunday service last? Sunday worship service begins at 10:15 a.m.  We have a blended worship service with praise and worship, hymns, a choir and a dynamic message.  The usual length for our worship service is up to an hour and a half.
  • Do you have a nursery? Yes!  We have a staffed nursery that is available for children who are babies up to four-years-old beginning at 10:00 a.m. each Sunday.  It is located down the north Sunday school hall.  Parents are asked to sign in their child(ren) and take a small silent pager in case they are needed during class or worship.  The children are engaged in lessons, crafts and play during this time.
  • Who do I ask if I have more questions? We want you to feel at home and are very glad to answer your questions.  Please feel free to  call us during weekly office hours at 563-242-0811.  You may also use the contact page form on this web site and we will return your email as soon as we can.
